Steel curves

Posted by ManuelaR (Hainburg (Frankfurt/Main), Germany) on 8 September 2006 in Miscellaneous.

This is part of a ship´s propeller exposed near the "Main river" dam, also almost at the end of my street, in Hainburg - Germany

I love the curves and like the steel texture against the blue sky, however I could not avoid this unpleasant sun reflection. How could I get rid of it?

Thanks for your valuable tips and/or constructive input!!

I am wondering if a b/w version would look better!

Shuva, I do have a b&w version but in this case (and I know it is quite exceptional in my case) I prefer this blueish toned version, it is somewhat warmer. However, still cannot get rid of this glare.

Without your description it would be hard to figure out what the subject is. The close up is probably more interesting than seeing the entire propellar.

Cool abstract ... I agree with Jason, you could not tell what it is without the description.

A polarizing filter on your camera would be the only way without post processing. If you are into post processing - lowering the highlight curve, while maintining the light tones would reduce it.

I know this is an old post of yours - but when I went to look at your photo of today, I realized I had not seen many of your photos. They are mostly very beautiful, and more than a few quite spectacular.
