This is definitely the closest I have ever been to a tarantula, thanks god for the glass between us. Result is not great but in the end I like the blurry effect as it emphasizes the "hairy" subject.

Far out with all that hair you could make a fur jacket and some mittens to go with it. You're right the blurry effect really emphasizes the hair. I wouldn't want to wake up next to one of those. A head shot of this would have made me faint I reckon. Good job.

nice hairy texture! When I first started at my current job, I was seated at a desk which was previously the "tarantula table". We had two terrariums. I kind of wish they were a little more active - most the time they would burrow into the dirt and I couldn't see them!

This is dangerously close, although I think tarantulas generally aren't as poisonous as small spiders. The blurriness adds motion to the photo.
