1. petite venise

Posted by ManuelaR (Hainburg (Frankfurt/Main), Germany) on 26 February 2007 in Cityscape & Urban and Portfolio.

Taken in Colmar, little Venice, Alsace - France

There is a little canal crossing part of Colmar little town & it is called "petite Venise" (little Venice). It is quite picturesque but when we were there in August 2006, the weather was not very kind with very heavy "London" fog giving the streets a "Jack the ripper" feeling. Still, I think that some pictures came out really well... hope you agree!

Thanks for your valuable tips and/or constructive input!!

Manuela, this is a great photo. I love shots that have something to do with reflections on water. You made a wonderful capture even if the weather was not gut. Apropo, we were in Lembach, France on august 2006 which also have a canal crossing. And with the weather, da stimme ich zu! Das Wetter war wirklich bescheuert!

This is a pretty scene - looks like a fairy book land
I wonder if you can darken the houses on the right just slightly to add a little more contrast - otherwise a terrific composition and photo.
