Excelente tons e cores. Uma fotografia de um animal que mete um bocado de medo, por causa da sua má cara. :) Mas que resultou numa fotografia muito boa.

Is that color a reflection ??
14 Jun 2007 8:51am
@priya: Hello priya! I just kept the original colour of the take, it was actually quite dark so I doubt if there was any reflection at all. Celialee also made almost the same shot in another zoo and also obtained that greenish tint. Thanks for stopping by!
Wow, its huge and cool shot of this huge monster fish. :) Scary gggrrrrr..... :)

i love the way you ve captured it. these fish are huge.. we've got quite afew at the zoo here apparently they put them in moats around the monkey enclosures to deter the monkeys from trying to swim out. im not sure the name's correct though. its not actually a lung fish. think they call it aropahima.

@benjamin: Hello Benjamin! The correct name is actually Arapaima Gigas -- just found it -- and they are commonly called lung fish as they have a lung-similar organ that allow them to stock oxigen. When the Amazonas water levels shrink, it does not contain enough oxygen: other fish die, Arapaimas survive!

Thanks for the tip and for your visit!
Very nice capture and thanks for the info on the lung fish.

That fish has a sad expression...
I like the details in the scales especially in the fish behind that one. Great tones.
