This bird was very captivating with its beautiful eyes. It was sitting on the nest and did not even notice us... ;)

We are leaving this weekend for a well-deserved vacation and will return in a few weeks' time. Will catch with everyone then. Enjoy your summer and do not forget your cameras at home... ;)

Hi Manuela, you are right beautiful eyes on this bird! Looks like it's got a natural "camouflage" texture on its feathers that blends well with its surrounding (your background). Great capture...have a safe and fun "well-deserved" vacation! Cheers....!

It's one of our native Ozzies - a Beach Curlew or Thick Knee!! One of my favourite birds - it wails in the night in a truly scary, mysterious way but is a great parent to its chick. Both parents looking after it so well - Lovely picture Manuela. Have a good break.
